The Knowledge of Good and Evil...

I was walking through the mall today, when a young girl and young man kinda scooted in front of me. The girl was wearing very high elevator boots that extended downward from her knee's, they were white in color and made of leather; they looked sort of sci-fi to me, like something out of Star Trek or Star Wars and the elevator portion was at least a foot in added height. It was one of those things that everyone noticed. I wish I had a video camera with me and caught all the comments and reactions on tape.

As I walked at a discreet distance behind them I couldn't help over-hearing all the comments her foot attire was drawing. Everything from laughter to disgust was being projected towards this little slip of a girl. One guy laughed and thought it was great looking boots. Another woman called her a name that was not very nice (what a slut) under her breath of course. How she was able to tell that just by her foot attire is beyond my understanding.

Love is the central command of scripture and judgment the central prohibition. Poor judgment in the beginning by Adam and Eve's eating from the "Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil" caused God to kick them out of the garden least they also eat from the "Tree of Life".

Consider; GENESIS 2:16

And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die."

Notice that the "Tree of Life" was fair game but the "Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil" was not. Since gaining the knowledge of good and evil, we have become less than what we should be; we judge and mistake our lousy judgment for love and betterment of our kind.

Consider; GENESIS 2-3

Judgment was the original sin perpetuated by Adam and Eve and we have all tried to get life from the judging of others if they are bad, then we are somehow better than they. However as stated in Romans 5:8;

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

I remember talking to a young lady once about God and she told me her parents are religious in fact they adopted her from another country along with her sister, which she was very thankful for. However when asked why she hasn't given her life to Jesus she said plainly; that the hypocrisy she saw in her parents lives and the backstabbing left Christianity as a non-choice for her, in her life. I guess her parents didn't read PROVERBS 22:6

Train a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not turn from it.

We are more than our words, we are our deeds, and those speak volumes more than words. For deeds without love are no deeds at all.

May...

The Lord bless and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up his countenance upon you,
And give you peace.

May love be our guiding light in everything we do. We should teach our children love and respect so they'll be the best that they can be in the future. This site should help too. Thanks for sharing this.
