The Walk of a Christian...

Ever had one of those days were you are constantly getting bombarded and your temper is being tested to the verge of EXPLODE? Most of the things that can make us loose it, are things that are simply beyond our control. This is were we get the opportunity to exercise the really only God giving inherent right that exists to all peoples of the world, our SELF-CONTROL.

If you ask anybody this question the answer should more than likely be the same for everyone;

Q. What is the only one thing that you truly have control over?

A. Yourself

In second Peter chapter 1 verse six it says to add to your knowledge SELF-CONTROL something that we must do in our walk as Christians (believers of Jesus Christ) is exercise our SELF-CONTROL daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, throughout our lifetime.

However we are getting ahead of ourselves because all to often we fail to exercise our SELF-CONTROL at some point and loose our tempers. The bible has a sure fire way for us to get control of ourselves and to understand what we as believers must do.

The answer lies at 2 PETER 1:3-11

3. as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,

4. by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Fruitful Growth in the Faith <--- (most bibles have this heading before verse five)
5. But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,

6. to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness,

7
. to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.

8
. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

10. Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;

11
. for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Over the next month or so we are going to focus on what we must do to have a fruitful knowledge of Jesus Christ and help make us effective believers in Jesus Christ. So tell your family, friends, and associates to tune in as we delve into what we need to do to be the best believers we can be.

Next post FAITH how do you get it, where does it come from, why you need it, etc...

May...

The Lord bless and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up his countenance upon you,
And give you peace.

Does the excuse "I'm not perfect but I'm forgiven" give Christians the right to treat people badly?

I was brought up a Christian and attended church with my family. I started working with some Christians and trusted them.

They started to scheming and being deceptive in order to get what they wanted, justifying it the guise of 'just doing business'. At first I prayed for help and strength to endure working with them, after a long time I finally decided to stand up to them, but by then it was too late. Again more lies and more praying – I started thinking that my prayers weren’t answered but she was asking for forgiveness and getting away with everything and I was being punished, maybe I wasn’t praying hard enough? The consequences of their actions were hurting me, my family and others and there was no remorse on their part.

I started to read about forgiveness and then I got mad because in the bible it’s not your works or actions that count, it’s your faith that will ‘save you,’ so no matter how much damage they did to others they can still go to heaven, even if they don’t repent or make up for their actions.

I decided then that I didn't want to be anywhere where they went for eternity.

I started looking deeper into my beliefs, and now because of their being ‘witness to Christ's’ ways, we are now atheists and know we need to believe in ourselves and doing right to people here on earth and not worry about after we are dead and buried.

They can go on believing their bad behavior ‘that never happened – it’s been forgiven’ while they continue to their conniving, deceitful, immoral ways - still hurting other people.

Now we are happily atheist, and they go to church every week to sing in the choir and gossip and look good to their 'church family.'

This was written in honor of people like CJ whose bad ‘bearing witness to Christ’ behavior drive people to question their beliefs.I finally realize they can ask for forgiveness all they want but without making amends for their bad behavior “those who are pure in their own eyes and yet are not cleansed of their filth” Proverbs 30:12 will continue to turn people away from faith and religion.

Most Atheists are Christians that got hurt by other Christians or lets say so-called Christians. Atheism is the belief that there is no God. For a believer to jump from one to the other is weak and what the bible calls double-minded.

I know you don't like to be called weak. Forest Gump always said to the question "what are you stupid or something boy" "Stupid is as stupid does" Yet somehow someway he always ended up on top. He never faltered in doing what he believed was right despite what others thought. When he ran he saved his unit and Captain Dan from destruction he only did what his Jenny asked him to do. RUN!

Faith is a gift from God not from man so that no one can boast. So if you all of a sudden choose to believe there is no God over the biblical God. And all of that because of the actions of others saying they are God's representatives and your hatred for them is the catalyst for that choice.

I say damn that sounds pretty stupid!

Stupid is as stupid does right? If you really want to stick it to those representatives then choose to work on your personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Try reading the Ten Commandments and see how many of those you are guilty of because even if it's only one (1) the bible says we are guilty of them all.

Then repent and choose to follow the leading of the spirit for it is the power of God. And when you and those representatives stand before Christ on the final Judgement Day He will say who gets in Not them and Not you but Jesus Christ.

You were half right with faith add repentance to the mix and you will be on the right path...
