Divorce & Denominational Divergence...

What does divorce and denominational divergence have in common?

Divorce is considered sin unless there is infidelity involved according to Matthew 19. But then forgiveness can be a solution to infidelity if you have it in you to forgive the transgression. Denominational divergence is sin and like any sin except for the blaspheming of the Holy Spirit can be forgiven. However in order for forgiveness to take place one must first repent from the sin in order for forgiveness to work its perfect work..

Persevering in the Truth...

What do you believe about Jesus Christ the Messiah (Saviour) of the world?

Did Jesus come to invent a new religion or is the current denominational system an off-shoot of the Roman Catholic Religion that adopted Jesus into their religion?

Who's right, who's wrong?

Does it matter?

Well I guess the answer to these probing questions depends on what you believe about your Jesus. If you think in denominational terms and have misplaced loyalty to a denomination. Then chances are; you are a religious person pushing your party's mandate blindly and unquestionable.

The fact is that Jesus was irreligious he was vehemently against the religious system of His time and let those practicing it know in no uncertain terms that He disapproved. We are here to demonstrate God's love and without unity it will never happen. I'll say that again loudly.

WE ARE HERE TO DEMONSTRATE GOD'S LOVE AND WITHOUT UNITY IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN...

"Denominational Divergence" is sin and a stumbling block for the would be believer as Jesus said about the religious leaders of his time, I repeat now to those that push religion over truth;

"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.

"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are.

"Woe to you, blind guides! You say, 'If anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.'

You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes the gold sacred?

You also say, 'If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gift on it, he is bound by his oath.'

You blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the altar that makes the gift sacred?

Therefore, he who swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it.

And he who swears by the temple swears by it and by the one who dwells in it.

And he who swears by heaven swears by God's throne and by the one who sits on it.

Control & Conquer...

Imagine, that from a worldly perspective and an atheistic point of view there are anti-christian sentiments that be call the Christian religion as something less than perfect. Well guess what reader you do not have to imagine it, for it is truly real

Hmm, I wonder were they got that idea that Christianity is less than perfect. The churches I have been to are full of perfect Church folk that would never give the world a reason to think that. Would they? Then there are authors like Philip Pullman that are truly spreading the atheistic view to our children through literature and now film. Pullman is completely anti-Christian and is quite forward about it as well.

One of Pullmans characters says “Every church is the same: control, destroy, obliterate every good feeling.” This is the worlds view of church and it is growing among society as a whole. We are becoming a Godless society that is open to just about anything. If you are a Christian this should be a wake up call to change that perspective to the biblical perspective that says; "They will know we are Christians by our Love".

Christianity went from a persecuted religion to a persecuting religion under the direction of Constantine and the Roman empire. Once that move was made it opened the way to where we are now. There are thirty thousand (30,000) plus Christian denominations with many of those hostile towards each other. If we count all the branches that number could shoot to approximately thirty eight thousand 38,000.

"Denominational Divergence" is sin and until the Church folk who call themselves Christians realize this truth. Well then, the slaughter will continue, wont it?

We do not sin in a vacuum the effects of the sin of denominational divergence is apparent and although God wants to forgive sin, we must first repent and turn from it completely.

True Love & Understanding...

Folks lets face the facts about Christianity here and NOW!

"DENOMINATIONAL DIVERGENCE" is SIN and is creating apostasy within the body of Christ and it must stop TODAY!

Instead of giving clarity it is creating confusion for those that are watching and wanting to get closer to God! Even though seeking the kingdom of God is a personal effort!

We who have found God and know it beyond a shadow of a doubt, can help lead others to this amazing gift. By making the journey easier and following the biblical version to the letter without all the man-made external religiosity that denominational divergence has caused. How many souls have been lost because of the sin of denominational divergence?

How can we be sure of others having found God and faith through Jesus Christ? Simple, ask questions like, tell me about it? Ask them to tell their testimony and remember that church attendance is not compulsory for the true believer. Why? Because we are the church your body is the temple not a brick and mortar building.

Ever since I first began to seek God earnestly with my whole being (in my early twenties I am now in my mid-forties) I have been shook to my very core. Sometimes almost unable to carry-on, but God is faithful and has promised never to give us more than we can handle.

And the problem of "DENOMINATIONAL DIVERGENCE" is not more then we can handle. The reform is not of religion but of man and it has never stopped in 2000 years because we are striving towards perfection in love through God. But we must repent and turn from our sins for salvation to do its work within us... Religious sin is what Jesus confronted publicly and so must we, but not from denominational platforms.

Q. What happens when a person gets evangelized without repenting?

A. They become another false convert and start the long arduous journey in the desert of their minds trying to figure it out what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ.

If they make it to the next level and join a church they are then on-fire for the Lord the first several years. Serving in various positions trying to find their place. Then comes the day that they are crushed by their brethren, that want them to settle down and get with the program. Tow the party line because this is what we believe in this denomination and as a member you will believe the same or get out. Maybe its not that harsh but sometimes it is. Or perhaps they become complacent and become another adherent sitting on their hands doing nothing for the kingdom. The division of the body of Christ through denominational divergence is an abomination to God and the true believer. The worst thing is, that as these denominations split they create more denominations just like germs & bacteria and spread from body to body.

Other stuff starts happening that chips away at their faith and without the proper armor they become apostate even within the church/denomination. They try to get help from others but there is no help because everyone has their own troubles or are to busy pointing out others short comings while ignoring their own plank. Then the next thing you know they start sliding away from the church (that denomination) they choose another and low and behold the same existence is there, the same as before yet it is a different denomination. Could this be considered idolatry when we worship denominational? I say yes it is...idolatry and since idolatry is sin so is denominational divergence.

Consider what the Apostle James says; "You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder/tremble. Our belief, our faith and our Christian Walk must be more then that of demons. If it is to be believable by those that are watching for they will know we are Christians by our LOVE...

Religious Sin...

Quick what was the only sin that Jesus confronted publicly?

If you said religious sin then you are 100% right...

Remember the story in John 8 where the woman caught in adultery was brought to Jesus by the Scribes and Pharisee's to be condemned for her sin of adultery as quoted by Leviticus 20:10.

The big question is where was the man with whom the adultery was committed? For the text from Leviticus plainly say's " 'If a man commits adultery with another man's wife—with the wife of his neighbor—both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death." So where was the man?

Jesus is writing in the ground as if does not hear them all the while they continued to ask him what should be done. Finally he stands up and says "He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first."

Jesus then stoops down and writes on the ground while his words convict those that cried for the woman's blood until only the woman and himself are left. Jesus then asks her "Woman where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?

Later on the debate with Scribes and Pharisee's continues where in John 8:15 Jesus plainly states this about judgment; "You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one."

Lets all say it together loudly go ahead it's OK no one will judge you "I judge no one". Wow how liberating is that statement lets try it again "I judge no one".

Walking in the Image of God...

The Bible relates in Genesis 1:27 that we are created in the image of God. The image that we see, hear, touch and feel seems so far from God at times. Unless of course we are self-righteous and are the judge, critic and condemner of all our kind. We need not be overly religious to be self-righteous, however it is considered a trait of the religious person almost exclusively.

It is so easy to look at other peoples sin rather than take the long hard look at ourselves. Perhaps this is how denominations were first born. Through conflict, condemnation, criticism and anger. This is not a good foundation for Love which is really what God is all about and what every human being needs, whether we be male or female. Human love is flawed and born out of our own self interest and selfishness. It is a need that consumes us from birth and continues until we are pushing up daisies.

Love covers sins so the bible implies in many a place (Prov. 10:12, James 5:20, 1Peter 4:8).

So bottom line God loves us John 3:16 and perhaps if we are completely honest with ourselves and with God. That we truly want to believe in Jesus Christ, because we want to have eternal life, and to selfishly want eternal life. We must understand that our basic human nature is selfish and if we can admit that, then we can turn (repent) from it (selfishness) and have the promise of eternal life. along with a new love that comes not from ourselves but from God.

Now imagine God's love lives in you!

Would you have to pretend to love or would it be outrageous and contagious?

Denominational Divergence is Sin...

EZEKIEL 3:1-27 <---Click Here To Read...

Ezekiel was a servant of God sent, to tell his countrymen what God had to say. Even though God warned him, that they would not listen to him. Perhaps he was sent because one would listen and be saved and that one might have only been Ezekiel himself.

Perhaps like Ezekiel and his time so is our time and the perversion of the gospel through denominational divergence, which is really just men arguing for the gospel as their own. Denominations are certainly not part of scripture. In fact scripture talks against sectarianism and calls it sin. If sectarianism is denominational divergence then denominations are sinful and do not glorify God. Instead they give cause for contempt of the church by non-believers for the scripture clearly states they will know we are Christians by our love (John 13:35).

Unless Christians of every denomination stand united under one God, one gospel, one message then you condemn those you think you may be saving through the perverted gospel of your denominational divergence.

Denominations are based in conflict and certain scriptures of the bible, but the bible itself is a whole and was not always based on chapter verse as we know it today it was more than likely written in what is called scripto continua.


What is scripto continua?

Because of the scarcity of papyrus outside of Egypt, the earliest manuscripts, which were non-biblical material, were written scripto continua, without any spaces between words or sentences, and it was likely that the original autographs of the Bible were written in a similar fashion. Examination of the early Greek texts also finds no upper and lower case distinction in lettering and an absence of punctuation until the ninth century AD.

In fact In 1240, Cardinal Hugo of St. Cher published the first Latin Bible with the chapter divisions that exist today. The Jews started using these chapter divisions in 1330 for their Hebrew Bible.

If the practice of denominational divergence is not biblical but sin then every denomination is wrong and will likely pay for it with their lives and the lives of their members and adherents. Repent before it's to late and turn from the sin of denominational divergence.

Confronting Ignorance & Sin...

Today I was picking up my kids at daycare and a man I have never seen before is walking in front of me, smoking a cigarette on school property, which is definitely not allowed. So I said "Hey fella you know that smoking on school grounds is not allowed" he said "Don't worry about it, it's OK" I said "No, it's not OK there is a by-law that bans smoking on school grounds, which makes what you are doing against the law" he gets mad and kinda lunges toward me in a menacing way and say's "No, it's OK" So rather than continue to argue with this guy which would have probably ended poorly, I decided to just get the kids and carry on. As we come walking out of the school he lunges from around the corner at us to scare us and then starts apologizing saying "I thought you were my guy's" Then his family comes out just after that and he attempts to scare them as well.

As we get into the car I ask the kids who that family is and they tell me it's some visitors from another daycare that is shutdown during spring break. He got mad when I told him there was a law against smoking on school property his anger was because he couldn't do what he wanted right there at that moment even though he ended up getting away with it anyway. His anger makes me wonder whether he knew what he was doing was wrong but did it anyway.

Remember back in 2 Samuel 12: 1-14 when the Lord sent Nathan to confront King David of his wrong doing. Now rather than just come right out and say you are wrong he tells him a story about two men, one rich and the other poor. And how the rich man took the poor man's pet lamb and fed it to his guest. At this David's anger was roused at the rich man for having done this deplorable deed and he say's "the man who has done this thing must surely die, and he must restore the lamb fourfold" David shows that he understands and knows the law well. Then Nathan say's you are the man and he lists his deeds of coveting, adultery and murder. Then the curse of the sword that will never depart from his house and that the lord will raise up evil against him from his own house and his wives will be given to others and all of Israel will see.

David repents right there on the spot realizing his misplaced anger was toward himself and the Lord allows him to live but with a curse now hanging over his house. Because of David's sin the enemies of the Lord are given great occasion to blaspheme and the child that was born to him through Bathsheba will surely die. How much misery was caused through this act of coveting his neighbors wife that lead to more and more sin until a curse was on him instead of a blessed life. Still the Lord forgave him but punished him rightly.

If we follow our own way we will end up like David forgiven yet cursed the rest of our days, however if we search out the Lord and his ways daily and depend on his guidance when tempted we could truly live blessed lives that glorify God daily.

The moral of the story is that ignorance is no excuse when it comes to the law...

GLUTTONY for The Judging Christian 101...

Many so-called Christian folk judge others who smoke or drink alcohol as a sin, but for some reason overindulged, excessively overweight gluttony amongst them is ignored. Anything in excess could be considered gluttony whether it be food, television, video games, alcohol, smoking, etc. However when the bible talks about gluttony it always pertains to food and drink.

Wikipedia defines gluttony as;

Derived from the Latin gluttire, meaning to gulp down or swallow, gluttony is the over-indulgence and over-consumption of food, drink, or intoxicants to the point of waste.

Websters defines gluttony as;

excess in eating or drinking


Lets take a look at reality T.V. and how it relates to the current Christian ethos on the acceptance of gluttony and the judging of others for their perceived appearance of evil lets use smoking as an example and compare it to gluttony taken directly from scripture. Knowing is growing and what we feed our minds is what comes out. A friend of mine always says "garbage in, garbage out".

• THE BIGGEST LOSER COUPLES (NBC)
  

This series challenges and encourages overweight gluttonous folks to shed pounds in in a safe manner through exercise and diet. there is also a grand prize up for grabs of $250,000. Kudos to NBC for taking a stand against gluttony even if it is a secular stand.

How would this relate to Christianity?

Well how about a show about;

• THE BIGGEST GLUTTONOUS CHRISTIAN

The grand prize would be a long tortuous vacation in the lake of fire compliments of our Father in heaven the Almighty God.

Proverbs 23:1-3 says;

1 when you sit to dine with a ruler, note well what is before you,

2 and put a knife to your throat if you are given to gluttony.

3 Do not crave his delicacies for that food is deceptive.

Consider also Proverbs 23:20-21, Proverbs 28:7, 2 Peter 1:5-7, 2 Corinthians 10:5, 2 Timothy 3:1-9,

Something we should consider further is that gluttony isn't just about overeating or the appearance of an overweight person but it is in the heart. The gluttonous heart is black and full of greed it cares not for others but would like to judge others as an excuse to continue it's gluttonous way. When we judge others we open ourselves to judgment consider what Jesus said in Matthew 15:8-9;

8 " 'These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.

9 They worship me in vain;
their teachings are but rules taught by men.' "

Consider; Matthew 7:1-6, Matthew 7;21-23, Matthew 12:33-37, Mark 7:21-23, Luke 12:1-3, John 8:31-36

Now lets look at smoking

So which problem should be given more attention smoking or gluttony?

Walking with God…

When you walk with God can you feel His presence (Shekhinah)? This form is the English spelling of a feminine word from biblical Hebrew. Shechinah is derived from the Hebrew verb שכן. In biblical Hebrew the word means to literally settle, inhabit or dwell.

Hebrew lesson aside lets look at the Bible for some illustration of the word or the lack of Shekhinah in the lives and deeds of some early biblical characters lets start with Saul.

1 Samuel 8:1 – 15:35, establishes Saul as King of Israel. The text says Saul was very handsome and that there was not a more handsome person amongst all the children of Israel and from his shoulders upward he was taller than any of the people. He was a married man with one son, Jonathan.

God told Samuel that he had chosen Saul to reign over His people and he was then anointed as King and later proclaimed King over Israel. The text says again that there was no one like him among all the people. So Saul chosen by God to reign over His people because they demanded a King from among themselves God granted their desire. The importance of this time is an ending of the apostasy that took place in the era of judges and the people now established, still didn’t trust God enough but demanded a King, which God provided in Saul. Saul who was physically superior to all the people and to look and see it you would notice it.

This point brings us half way through the story so far and reminds me of a verse yet further ahead at;

1 Samuel 16:7

But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees;^[a] for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

God knows our nature to judge because it is our original sin and part and parcel of what we are. We are judges of God and man alike for our original sin was not disobedience in the eating of the apple but judgement. The symptom of this sin is the way we live from the outside in depending on outside influences to tell us we are right, good, righteous, good looking, the list is unbelievably inexhaustible. If I can only achieve this then I will be accepted by all. Meanwhile God accepts us as we are you don’t need a membership to enjoy God’s covenant blessings but you do need to trust and believe God’s word.

For blessed are those who believe without seeing John 20:29

The A, B, C’s of Evangelism

Imagine driving home from work on a Friday late afternoon. The traffic is steady and slow everybody around you including yourself looks a little frazzled and impatient by the slow traffic. As you look around trying your best not to look at the other motorists you begin to notice the advertising, that’s all around you and you start to think of the things you need.

You see folks advertising is needed to help remind you of what you need. But what do you really need the most out of this life, to truly be happy? You know the kind of happy I’m talking about, like when you fell in love for the first time. I bet you were just like the “Juicy Fruit” guy on his way home from school and decided to chew some gum and didn’t notice anything else around you. You get home and your sister tells Mom that you were chewing “Juicy Fruit” again. You know that kind of happy were nothing else matters except the moment.

Now imagine that within all that advertising you’re seeing there’s a message or two from God in there to the populace. Remember when Italy won their fourth World Cup and all we could see was green, white and red flags flying from car windows. Today one of my closest friends saw a red flag with white writing that said “Jesus is Lord” flying from the window of a brown Toyota Corolla. She had just finished talking with her future business associate about their business plans. They both said in simulcast stereo we should pray about this and that’s when the car went by with the message.

Now after hearing that story I was reminded about a story that happened in Florida back in the late 90’s. Some anonymous guy hires an advertising agency to put about a series of billboards all over Southern Florida that is embraced by Outdoor Advertising Association of America (OAAA). The billboards are messages that are signed with a single name – God. Some of the more memorable ones are;

• Don’t make me come down there

- God

• What part of “Thou shall not”… didn’t you understand?

-God

• Need Directions?

- God

So what does this have to do with the A, B, C’s of evangelizing? Quite simple really if you have never evangelized but consider yourself a Christian you would be one of those Bad Christians that are not obedient to God. Some folks would call you a “Backslider”, “Fallen Brother/Sister”, “Flying Fornicator”, “Worldly”, “Transgressor”, etc. They say English is one of the hardest languages to learn but I think Christianese is the hardest of all. Now the same folk calling you on your idleness really don’t have a plan either. Because, they are usually the ones in leadership and should be implementing some sort of a plan of evangelizing.

Well Christian I am not here to offer a plan but encouragement and help in understanding the task at hand as well as the very importance of it. Well alright it is a bit of a plan but it’s up to you, too do the trying. Here’s how I think about it;

- A -
Always pray before evangelizing, that God will send those ready to hear his word

- B -

Believe in the power of the Holy Spirit to bring about understanding and the right words

- C -

Commit to learning all different methods of evangelizing the gospel of Jesus Christ

The ABC method is to explain who Jesus is (John 3:16) and why he died and that he rose from the dead and defeated death (John 20). You also explain who God the Father is (God is "Father" to all men because he created the world and in that sense "Fathered" the world and its inhabitants) and His unconditional love for us when we were still sinners (Romans 5:7-8). Then explain the Holy Spirit and how he works right now in helping to understand that Jesus is Lord (John 14:16, 16:8-11, 20:21-23).

A – admit you are a sinner

B – believe that Jesus Christ (the Son of God) is the redeemer of the fallen world

C – choose to live for Jesus Christ and choose to have Him reside in your heart and to make you a new creation in Christ

Romans 3:23
"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"

We all have sin in our hearts. We all were born slaves to sin and this world.
We were born under the power of sin's control.
- Admit that you are a sinner-

Romans 6:23
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”

Sin is death and Jesus defeated death at the cross by becoming sin. Imagine how Jesus looked hanging on the cross He was beat beyond recognition. Sin is ugly and vile and that is what was done to Jesus. He took all our sin and set us free.

- Understand that you deserve death for your sin-

Romans 5:8

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

When Jesus died on the cross He paid sin's penalty. He paid the price for all sin.
-We love because He loved us first (1John 4:19)-

Romans 10:13
For “whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved!"
- Ask God to reveal Himself in the name of Jesus!-

Romans 10:9-10
9. That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
- Ask Jesus into your heart to live in you and through you -

Jesus said,
Revelation 3:20
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.

You basically demonstrate Jesus to all you know and meet by the way you live your life. For example we have free speech here in North America but many countries do not. Christians in these nations are imprisoned for there belief, they are beat and tortured yet they continue to love the torturers who then become Christian by example of the believer. Check out this book called Jesus Freaks by the band dc Talk.

The Greatest Commandment…

In the beginning God chose us before we were created, but chose us for what?

Have you ever known something without having learned it like perhaps glimpsing the very depths of understanding the mathematical equation that makes up our world the planet Earth? Or how about the raising of a child most of us do the best stuff instinctively motivated by our love. I remember when my first child came into the world and how it changed me inside. I never knew that I could love another as much as that.

So, just as I discovered the love for another through the birth of my first child I discover more about myself each day. The journey of life is much like jumping from an airplane. Many things we do are scary but once they are done, they become old hat. Sin is like that if we deny the wrongs we do, they become easier each time (old hat). But some might ask, what is sin?

Sin is not following the Law of the Ten Commandments.

1. “You shall have no other gods before Me”
2. “You shall not make for yourself any idols
3. “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain”
4. “Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy”
5. “Honor your Father and your Mother
6. “You shall not murder”
7. “You shall not commit adultery”
8. “You shall not steal”
9. “You shall not lie”
10. “You shall not covet”

In my life I broke all the laws for in transgressing one we break them all. When I was a young boy I stole and I remember the first time and how every part of my inner-being said don’t do it. But I did anyway. I then remember feeling the rush of getting away with it. After the candy was gone I felt unsatisfied and empty. Later in my adolescence I discovered women and all the pleasures of her touch and smell but afterward I felt empty like the act of love making was not enough to fulfill me. Empty again when will it stop? Then in young adulthood I discovered God, He convicted me of my sin (through the Law of the Ten Commandments) and helped me understand why I felt empty. The emptiness was the absence of love, but not our love but God’s love that fills you full and leaves you complete.

I prayed and He revealed himself to me as He will reveal Himself to any who humble themselves and call upon Him with a humble heart. Just like we do not know everything nor can you know anything unless you try. God is there for each of us ready to fill you to overflow with His love. A love that over delivers what we previously thought we knew about love. Our love is nothing compared to the overflow of Gods love in your life and its more than just a feeling.
