Love and Spring

It was a long winter, but its over now. And just like the promise of renewal the spring brings with it new life in the guise of flowers and people too. We all come out looking for love. Love is the pivot point with God but not the kind of love we as humans concede to...

  • Human love is impatient
  • God's love is patient
  • Human love is sometimes unkind
  • God's love is always kind
  • Human love is envious
  • God's love is comforting
  • Human love boasts
  • God's love is humble
  • Human love is proud
  • God's love is appreciative
  • Human love can dishonour
  • God's love Honours
  • Human love is selfish
  • God's love is selfless
  • Human love can be angered
  • God's love is contented
  • Human love keeps score
  • God's love is full of joy
  • Human love can delight in evil
  • God's love rejoices in the truth
Gods love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres, and it never fails...
Based on 1Corinthians 13:4-8

May...

The Lord bless and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up his countenance upon you,
And give you peace.

Hey,
I live in Alberta. A fellow believer in Christ. I am an older woman. It is great to find someone blogging from Canada. I have blogged with some from the USA.
Have you received the Holy Spirit since you became a believer? If not, I would suggest that you ask God about this Holy Spirit Baptism. Just pray and ask Him about it. In my own experience this baptism happened to me after I was saved, a few months after. A wonderful experience and this will be a great help to you in your relationship and walk with God. God is faithful to provide what we need. God Bless.

Hi M.A.C,
Which one :)

Some believers receive a major deliverance from sin at (or shortly after) their stance/belief in Jesus. I did not.
I've had my experiences in the Lord such as healing, deliverance, provision, strength, and help from above so to speak over the years. It's been great, but my walk with Jesus has had its' difficult times.
Generally my life with the Lord has been fulfilling and valuable. I've lived a simple ordinary life with some extraordinary events at times. I love it, and I hope (with the Lord's grace and mercy) to continue to the end and obtain eternal life.

The only difficulties I've had have been from people trying to convince me the way they believe is better than the way others believe. Which lead me to this question I'd like you to answer...

Do you think God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to start a new religion called Christianity?

Well, we know from scripture that we 'must be born again to enter into the kingdom of God'. Every believer has to experience this. Those who haven't are not part of Christ in the sense of partaking of the divine nature or having a new spirit.
The next thing that has to happen is a new man has to rise up. The believer has to crucify the sin or the flesh in his/her own life. With this behavior the believer moves toward perfection in Christ.
When we reach maturity we will be like Him even as Jesus is the express image of the Father.

I'm understanding that the name of Christian was applied to the disciples at Antioch first. This happened sometime after Jesus ascended to heaven. Jesus did not call his disciples Christians in the scripture. He called them 'friends, disciples, brothers'.

So I'm guessing your answer would be "No" then?

Did Jesus come to start a new religion? I guess I would say 'no'. He came to redeem men. This became the worship of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. Our God. In that sense a new religion did happen.
