Blasphemy...

Today I stopped at the grocery store to grab a couple things for supper and proceeded to the quick check-out you know the one 12 items or less. In front of me was a young woman with two children a boy and a girl, the girl was around 4 and the boy had to be at least six.

The young boy was playing with his jet fighter toy and using some bag ties he picked up in produce to modify it. The young girl was reading a free grocery store magazine full of advertising, you know the kind full of movies and such. she comes across some ads for movies and proceeds to blaspheme God with the traditional OMG.

Her mother looks at her and scolds her but not in a mean way, it was very loving with a you should know better than that tone in her voice as she says her name out loud. The young girl say's sorry Mom I meant to say Oh my gosh.

It made my heart glad to have witnessed that and it hit me that blasphemy has become a common old hat everyday occurrence that children pick up on easily as part of speech. If we are parents and we follow the biblical proverb found in Proverbs 22:6 that say's;

Train a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not turn from it.

Then we are surely doing what we should by training our children the way they should go and to look at their own wrongdoings and to be aware of what they say and how they say it.

To live a conscious life bereft of excuses.

How Many?

How many people did you bring to Christ yesterday, today, this week, this month, this year? Did you ever wonder what the fruit is you’re supposed to be bearing as a Christian? The fruit we bear and how we are recognized is the people we bring to Christ the Bible is full of this type of imagery Jeremiah 17:8. In the book of Hosea the prophet says if only Israel would do what’s right, Hosea 10:12, in other words get busy doing what is right, right now!

Jesus said of false prophets by their fruit you will know them Matthew 7:16 and he goes on to show that good comes from good bad from bad. In order to fully understand this we need to look at the whole teachings of Jesus from the Sermon on the Mount, thematically Matthew 5:1-7:29.

The greatest problem that I can see is that we as Christians are always making excuses why we can’t evangelize instead of looking at how we can. There are many ways to evangelize as I covered in the ABC’s of Evangelism. But which way would work best for you? Why not use the way Jesus did the way a salesperson sells is very similar to how Jesus told others who he was and why they must believe. He related then created an opportunity to convict and then revealed himself.

I use The Way of the Master personally because I see its fruit almost daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly. I taught my kids this method by first having a competition on who could remember the Ten Commandments in order. We gave prizes to them for doing the work of memorizing them in order 1-10 We posted up the Ten commandments for Kids in their rooms, the living room and kitchen. We found this through Ray comfort’s ministry Living Waters. We have helped to save kids and whole family's in our neighborhood through this method. It works if you as a family are all on the same page and practice together. It also helps to lead by example to show your kids it works the ripples start slow then reach out beyond our limits. If a child can understand it you can too! Here it is below;

Print these off and use them like a presentation but don't forget to memorize them, practice on every one of your family and friends. Then try other people you know in your neighborhood, workplace, school and extracurricular activities. You can do it pray before you start each time.

Christian Martyrs

The Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) is an organization that helps Christian martyrs around the world. If you think that Christian persecution is a thing of the past all you would have to do is go for a visit to Uganda in East Africa to see for yourself firsthand how Christians are persecuted and the existence of evil.

Currently there are 27,616,000 people in Uganda a 2005 census of those 85.1% are considered Christian includes all denominations. The biggest problem in Uganda comes from the longest standing war in history between The Uganda People’s Defense Force and the Lords Resistance Army (LRA). The LRA steals children at very young ages and forces them to fight through an indoctrination and brainwashing and fear.

There was a documentary made by four (4) young men in search of a story instead they found that evil is real and lives in Uganda East Africa. The Invisible Children is a documentary that shows some unbelievable facts of what has become known worldwide as the invisible children.
