Is Christianity a Covert Religion?

Let’s look at that in relation to all the information out there about the New World Order (NWO). Ok first we need our Bibles so if you don’t have your Bible go get it before you continue reading or buy one at Amazon…

Ok turn to Ephesians 2:8-9 and read what it says there I’m using a NIV so if yours is different remember its only semantics and not cause for concern. Mine says;

8. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9. not by works, so that no one can boast.

“For it is by grace you have been saved,”

Theological meaning of;

grace –

a. the freely given, unmerited or undeserved favor and love of God.
b. the influence or spirit of God operating in humans to regenerate or strengthen them.
c. a virtue or excellence of divine origin: the Christian graces.

Theological meaning of;

-faith-

English; faith, 1. complete trust or confidence 2. strong belief in God (religion) 3. a system of religious belief

Latin; fidere, origin fides; to trust, trust in a person or thing, faith, confidence, reliance, credence, belief (syn.: fidelitas, fiducia, confidentia).

Greek; pistis, (pis-tis) truth itself, assurance, trust, belief, believe, faith, fidelity

Hebrew; êmûwn, (ay-moon) established, trustworthiness, trusty, faith, truth

and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God”

-Gift-

1.

something given voluntarily without payment in return, as to show favor toward someone, honor an occasion, or make a gesture of assistance; present.

2.

the act of giving.

3.

something bestowed or acquired without any particular effort by the recipient or without its being earned: Those extra points he got in the game were a total gift.

4.

a special ability or capacity; natural endowment; talent: the gift of saying the right thing at the right time.

“not by works,”

Theological meaning of;

-works-

Righteous deeds

“ so that no one can boast”

Theological meaning of;

-boast-

a thing boasted of; a cause for pride: Piety is his boast. It is her boast that she has never done anything wrong so it makes her a better Christian.

So it does seem covert as in one cannot receive faith without the direct involvement of God the Father in giving them faith through grace.

So Christian what is your excuse for not spreading the gospel, is it because you are;

  • Shy
  • Not your thing
  • Lazy
  • Don’t know who to tell
  • Don’t know how

No matter what your excuse you can overcome it through the exercise of your faith and belief in God the Father and his son Jesus Christ. It all starts with prayer try this prayer each morning before you start your day. “Lord please give me the words and people to tell of your saving grace today, send me those prepared to hear of You.

Good luck and God Bless your effort in spreading the gospel…

The Greatest Commandment…

In the beginning God chose us before we were created, but chose us for what?

Have you ever known something without having learned it like perhaps glimpsing the very depths of understanding the mathematical equation that makes up our world the planet Earth? Or how about the raising of a child most of us do the best stuff instinctively motivated by our love. I remember when my first child came into the world and how it changed me inside. I never knew that I could love another as much as that.

So, just as I discovered the love for another through the birth of my first child I discover more about myself each day. The journey of life is much like jumping from an airplane. Many things we do are scary but once they are done, they become old hat. Sin is like that if we deny the wrongs we do, they become easier each time (old hat). But some might ask, what is sin?

Sin is not following the Law of the Ten Commandments.

  1. “You shall have no other gods before Me”
  2. “You shall not make for yourself any idols
  3. “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain”
  4. “Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy”
  5. “Honor your Father and your Mother
  6. “You shall not murder”
  7. “You shall not commit adultery”
  8. “You shall not steal”
  9. “You shall not lie”
  10. “You shall not covet”

In my life I broke all the laws for in transgressing one we break them all. When I was a young boy I stole and I remember the first time and how every part of my inner-being said don’t do it. But I did anyway. I then remember feeling the rush of getting away with it. After the candy was gone I felt unsatisfied and empty. Later in my adolescence I discovered women and all the pleasures of her touch and smell but afterward I felt empty like the act of love making was not enough to fulfill me. Empty again when will it stop? Then in young adulthood I discovered God, He convicted me of my sin (through the Law of the Ten Commandments) and helped me understand why I felt empty. The emptiness was the absence of love, but not our love but God’s love that fills you full and leaves you complete.

I prayed and He revealed himself to me as He will reveal Himself to any who humble themselves and call upon Him with a humble heart. Just like we do not know everything nor can you know anything unless you try. God is there for each of us ready to fill you to overflow with His love. A love that over delivers what we previously thought we knew about love. Our love is nothing compared to the overflow of Gods love in your life and its more than just a feeling.

May...

The Lord bless and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up his countenance upon you,
And give you peace.

The Subversive Christian

What exactly is a subversive Christian?
Was Jesus the first subversive Christian?
Yes he was and his attitude is what I long for in my life, I want to be like Jesus in my thoughts, in my actions, in my deeds, in everything I do. The way I think is the key, to be renewed, a new creation in Christ. In order to change the things I do I must first change the way I think. You see folks being a Christian or a follower of Christ is a process. This ain’t no McQuickie thing.

In many Christian circles Christianity and Christ is treated as something that we can add-on to our lives, but in reality, when we face the facts we realize and have all done this at one time or another. What have we done? We tend to treat God as though if we believe the right things, pray regularly, try to avoid certain sins, and be loving to others we can please him. I think that this is a subtle lie propagated by the enemy against what we should be doing, saying, praying and acting out in our lives. Jesus calls us to radically change our lives, die to self. I believe that this means that we can't just add good behaviour and beliefs onto our lives to be in good shape. We need to drop all worldly ambitions, hopes, dreams, and plans.

You're probably wondering where I'm going with this. How is this subversive? I think that it is subversive because when we start to really ‘seek God's Kingdom first’ we are putting aside the world's values. This says to people that their way of doing things is not good. When I run against the flow of society people know that I'm doing it for a reason and that I disagree with them. If when I choose not to make the typical Ikea or Martha Stewart home. By buying better furniture, nicer decorations, and replacing odd dishes because I would rather give my time and money to serve the Kingdom. I make people who do these things uncomfortable. Our lifestyles should help convict other people of their sin and make them ask themselves and each other why we seem so happy serving others.

I was asked sometime ago by a woman I was witnessing to about Jesus Christ what my purpose here in the world was. My answer surprised me for I said it with rarely any reflection to the question whatsoever and it has been with me since. My answer was “I am here to educate and push people past their comfort zones daily” I would like to add to that answer and say that I am also here to demonstrate my Saviours attitude in this by pushing and compelling others to seek the truth in all we do. When we admit to being a certain way it does not give us license to continue in that behaviour. For example if you are hard to deal with perhaps unreasonable if you admit you are that to others it does not give you the right to continue to be unreasonable. If you can’t change on your own pray about it God can change anyone if you humble yourself first in prayer.

For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life. And who is equal to such a task? 2 Cor. 2:15

Some believers in what I like to call Christendom are slaves to the world still and they don’t know it. They are to busy looking at their shoes (Mark Buchanan quote) waiting for someone to tell them what they are to do for the Kingdom instead of seeking first the Kingdom and the word of God for themselves so that they may eventually be yoked with like minded believers.

This is my prayer for you Christian that you step up and be a subversive like Jesus step up and show the people you influence that you mean business. We are here predestined by God to do what it is we are to do. I pray that you will know God’s will for you. I pray that you will come to understand that there is nothing in this world that can stop you from accomplishing your task. I pray for the help you need, the encouragement you need, the power you need. I pray that you would understand that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit and you have all you need inside if only you would look. I pray in the name of Jesus all these things for you Christian that you would stop looking at your shoes.

May...

The Lord bless and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up his countenance upon you,
And give you peace.

Is Your Christian Walk Superficial?

Jesus said in John 14:23 If anyone loves me he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. Love and obedience go together like bread and butter or a hug and a kiss between husband and wife. Jesus taught that love is the springboard of obedience and that one does not exist without the other. The Apostle John defined it best when in 2 John 6 he said; And this is love; that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, His command is that you walk in love.

I remember talking with a pastor about this, after I realized that the two were synonymously tied together like the proverbial golden rule “Do unto others as you would have then do unto you”(Matthew 7:12). Well that pastor didn’t seem convinced at all but more like annoyed that I a non-member to his church no less, would dare to talk about something like love and obedience in one sentence. I had to shake my head when not 20 minutes later he got upset with me in our Sunday school class.

Allow me to expand on that last paragraph. That Sunday we had a cool missionary guy come in to talk to us about the different levels of missionary work and how they worked in the past compared to present day. E1 is work within the neighbourhood of our church, E2 is work within our city, E3 is work within our country and E4 is work outside of our country. The cool missionary guy said that we have less long-term missionaries today then we did back in the 60’s when he first became one. I suggested that it was perhaps the church was ignoring the E1 portion and he said that is exactly what it was the church was losing its place here in North America. Perhaps he was convicted by the fact that the church really had no plan to evangelize the neighbourhood at all, I really don’t know.

So how does this all apply to the question; is your Christian walk superficial? Quite simply really it’s like this;

If we are not doing (obedience) what Jesus taught us then we are being superficial. Ask yourself these questions;

  • Why do you go to church on Sunday?
  • How many people have you brought to Christ?
  • Do you have a plan to evangelize?
  • What’s the most important aspect part of your life?
